According to the latest NPD data, with a huge launch, the much-awaited Elden Ring has officially become the best-selling game of 2022 thus far in the United States.
FromSoftware’s latest is only second to Call of Duty: Vanguard as the best release of the last 12 months. That means it outsold Forza Horizon 5, Halo Infinite, and the rest of the best games of 2021 in February.
Despite only being published very recently on February 25, Elden Ring is now the seventh best-selling launch of the last 1 year.

The game came in second on Sony consoles, but PlayStation users still preferred their latest special, Horizon: Forbidden West.
It did, however, take the top slot on Xbox and Steam, where it gained in popularity day by day during its debut weekend before becoming the platform’s sixth-highest played game of all time.
Elden Ring has become a cultural phenomenon, with bizarre commercials, a streamer’s Twitch conversation playing while he swept, and someone utilizing the Nintendo Switch’s Ring Fit Controller to defeat a boss.
