The next version of PlayStation Plus Subscription has been introduced by PlayStation, and it will be a little more challenging for novices. The relaunch of PlayStation’s subscription service will, as expected, combine the benefits of PS Plus and PlayStation Now, with the highest level offering some of the same features as Xbox Game Pass. PlayStation Plus, PlayStation Plus Extra, and PlayStation Plus Premium will be the three tiers accessible when the subscription begins in June. Up to 700 games will be included with the Premium subscription.
TIER 1
The ordinary PlayStation Plus membership will be renamed PlayStation Plus Essential. Even with the name, the services are still the same. PS Plus Essential will cost $60 a year and will provide the same benefits as PS Plus, such as monthly free games, cloud storage, online multiplayer, and rebates during select promotions.
TIER 2
PlayStation Plus Extra, which includes up to 400 PS4 and PS5 games, will charge $15 per month or $100 per year. The Extra tier’s description is a little hazy, however, customers are allowed to download and play titles from the library on their console. There will be both first-party and third-party games included. Given the number of games available, it appears to be a hybrid of PlayStation Plus and PlayStation Now, both of which will be phased out in June. At launch, current PlayStation Now customers will be upgraded to PS Plus Extra.
TIER 3
In comparison to the Extra tier, the most pricey of the lot, PlayStation Plus Premium, will have “up to 340 additional games.” PlayStation Plus Premium will set you back $18 per month or $120 annually. Additional titles in the Premium tier appear to be primarily from the PlayStation back catalog, with original PlayStation, PS2, PS3, and PSP games accessible to play. While cloud streaming will be required for PS3 titles, at least some of the other retro-friendly classics will be available for download.
Limited-time game demos and cloud streaming on PC are among the other benefits of the Premium tier. PS5 and PS4 users will have access to all three membership tiers, while PS5 users will have access to additional games.
