In September 2020, as part of a Sony State of Play, Hogwarts Legacy was unveiled. The game was meant to be released last year, around January 2021, however, Avalanche Software announced that it will be delayed until 2022 to give “the game the time it requires.”
Since the delay, little information about the game has been released. Except for the fact that it is still on schedule for a 2022 release. In a November interview, Warner Bros. General Manager Rachel Wakley stated that the highly anticipated action RPG would be released after the next Fantastic Beasts film.
In some ways, 2022 appears to be the appropriate year for Harry Potter: Hogwarts Legacy to be produced, as seen by shows like Return to Hogwarts 20th Anniversary, which was recently released.
The Rowling Library, a literary website dedicated to promoting “J.K. Rowling’s life and works,” has set a publication date for the Hogwarts Legacy official artbook. The Art and Making of Hogwarts Legacy is set to be released on September 6th, according to the official website. The fictional characters of the wizarding world return to Hogwarts on September 1st, which is also “Back to Hogwarts Day.”
However, it’s worth noting that none of this means Hogwarts Legacy will be released in September. There’s also the possibility that the game will be postponed until the following year. We won’t know for sure until Warner Bros. announces concrete release date for the eagerly awaited film.
